China Pakistan strategic cooperation strengthened significantly during a high-level meeting held on July 16, 2025. In Tianjin, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar to reaffirm mutual support and expand bilateral ties.

To begin with, Wang Yi emphasized China’s commitment to building a stronger China-Pakistan community with a shared future. He reiterated the importance of implementing the consensus reached by the two heads of state. Additionally, he stressed the need for high-quality development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

China also pledged to deepen cooperation in sectors such as agriculture, industry, and mining. Moreover, the two countries plan to mark the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations next year with joint events that will celebrate historical friendship.

Importantly, Wang reaffirmed China’s full support for Pakistan’s counterterrorism efforts. He expressed confidence that Pakistan will ensure the safety of Chinese nationals and projects. Consequently, Beijing remains firmly committed to enhancing security collaboration.

In response, Ishaq Dar stated that Pakistan continues to uphold the one-China principle. He voiced strong backing for China’s role as host of the upcoming Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Summit in Tianjin. Furthermore, he pledged to safeguard Chinese personnel and institutions within Pakistan.

In addition, both leaders agreed to expand dialogue on regional peace and development. They highlighted the significance of CPEC in strengthening economic resilience. As a result, their cooperation is set to yield long-term benefits for both countries.

This partnership model not only supports bilateral growth but also contributes to South Asia’s broader stability. While global tensions rise, China and Pakistan remain united in promoting peace and shared progress.

Looking ahead, the celebration of 75 years of diplomatic relations will serve as a reminder of their enduring bond. It will also offer a platform to outline new goals for the future. Their cooperation, built on trust and mutual respect, continues to evolve.

Ultimately, continued China Pakistan strategic cooperation positions both nations to confront challenges and seize new opportunities—together.
